Preventive Maintenance (PM) – Checklist

  • Panel removal for full access

  • Check fluid levels: brake, steering, transmission, differential, hydraulic, engine oil, coolant

  • Inspect drive, hydraulic, and auxiliary motors

  • Verify control panel/contractors

  • Inspect hoses and fittings for leaks

  • Visual check of lift, tilt, side-shift, and reach cylinders

  • Check carriage condition and tire wear

  • Lubricate chains, channels, pivot points, and wheels

  • General truck inspection

  • Deep clean of the truck

  • Documentation: detailed report for customer and office records

Safety Service – Inspection Points

  • Check hydraulic functions

  • Visual inspection of hydraulic hoses

  • Assess mast condition/play, mounts, and bushings

  • Cylinder checks for leaks/bypassing

  • Measure lift chains and forks for wear; examine fork pins

  • Inspect park brake

  • Evaluate steering linkages and wheel bearings

Battery Maintenance

Corrosion management

  • Neutralize and clean individual cells; clean DC output cables and watering hoses

Cell analysis

  • Inspect cells; take voltage and specific-gravity readings

Electrical system check

  • Check for voltage leaks and damaged output cables

  • Inspect Anderson connectors and cable tips for heat/discoloration

Safety & protection

  • Ensure covers/shrouds present; remove corrosion; verify no cell-link shorts

Watering system inspection

  • Inspect/clean system; check levels; look for acid leaks; test indicator; evaluate tray condition

Reporting

  • Provide a comprehensive report with current state, findings, and required repairs

Charger Maintenance

  • Clean inside/outside with air pressure; focus on fans and exhaust vents

  • Verify charger–battery compatibility

  • Inspect AC input and all connections

  • Inspect output cables; insulate if needed

  • Inspect Anderson connector; check tips for heat damage

  • Test charger with battery; measure start-up amperage vs expected output

  • Verify/adjust ammeter calibration

  • Lubricate doors, locks, hinges

  • Provide a comprehensive service report with condition, findings, and repair recommendations
